Jessica Corbin, BVS Founding Director, is currently on the faculty at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. After earning a Bachelor of Music at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Ms. Corbin taught piano and musical theater for two years in the Pittsburgh area before going on to study Music Theory and Choral Conducting at Indiana University in Bloomington, where she was an Associate Instructor in the Music Theory Department while earning a Master of Music. She then moved to Baltimore, where she was the Director of Music at the Maryland School for the Blind. She moved to New York City in 1997, and worked briefly for the record company BMG Classics before becoming a teacher at F. H. La Guardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan. Jessica joined the faculty of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in February of 2001. In 2002 the Bella Voce Singers, under the direction of Ms. Corbin, was chosen as one of the top four High School-aged choirs in New York City, performing at Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. In addition to her duties at the Brooklyn Conservatory, she also gives private piano and theory lessons and works as an accompanist. She resides with her family in Brooklyn.

Keiko Asakawa-Golden, BVS Assistant Director and accompanist is active in performing collaborative arts in a wide range of genres. She joined the Brooklyn Conservatory faculty in 2003, accompanying the Women’s Vocal Ensemble. Recent performances include an appearance as a soloist in a concert in Tokyo, in which she performed Beethoven's Triple Concerto and Mendelssohn's Double Concerto with Bulgarian conductor Stanistav Ushev and the En-Kyo Orchestra. She is also the pianist of the Savane Trio, a piano trio which received the prestigious Rural Residency Grant from the Chamber Music of America in 1999. Ms. Asakawa-Golden holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University. She lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and teaches piano privately.
